The current fresh water supply for the City of Alamogordo (the City) and the surrounding region is not sufficient to meet current and future water demands. The purpose of the Alamogordo Regional Water Supply Project (the Project) is to secure a sustainable fresh water source for use by the City and the surrounding region.

The proposed Project will help serve the water supply needs of the Alamogordo region by continuing to ensure water conservation within the City, and by treating brackish water from the Tularosa Basin to meet drinking water standards.
