Project Archaeology fosters understanding of past and present cultures and improves social studies and science education through archaeology. SWCA has sponsored the Project Archaeology program since 2009. Since the program's inception in 1990, it has provided educational materials to more than 10,000 teachers, who in turn bring archaeology lessons to an estimated 210,000 students every year.

Project: Renovation of the Farnsworth & Chambers [now Gragg] Building from 1957
Award Description:
The Greater Houston Preservation Alliance's February 2011 Good Brick Award recognized work on the Farnsworth & Chambers Building, which is now the city of Houston Parks and Recreation Department's headquarters. SWCA served as historic preservation consultant to HarrisonKornberg Architects to ensure compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation of historic buildings, and researched and prepared successful nominations for the building's city of Houston Protected Landmark, Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and National Register of Historic Places designations.
