Robert became a member of SWCA’s Board of Directors in 2007, when he succeeded previous chairman and SWCA founder Steven W. Carothers. His specific areas of expertise include strategic planning, financial management, Employee Stock Ownership Plan governance, and merger and acquisition strategies. Robert served two decades as executive vice president, chief financial officer, and member of the Board of Directors for Woodward-Clyde, an engineering and environmental firm that was acquired by URS in 1997. Since that time, he has headed Robert K. Wilson Consulting, working with employee-owned engineering and environmental consulting firms to provide his particular insights into the challenges faced by employee-owned firms.
