AUSTIN, TX -- Feb. 1, 2007 -- SWCA is pleased to announce the addition of Senior Consultant Don Nanninga to the Austin office. Mr. Nanninga has more than 30 years of experience in the regulatory arena, specifically in the management and processing of Section 10/404 permits for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Mr. Nanninga was one of the founding Regulatory staff in the Galveston District that dealt with Section 10 and Section 404 permit issues and with the implementation of the USACE’s Clean Water Act regulations. During his tenure, Mr. Nanninga worked in the Enforcement and Evaluation Sections of the USACE, where he reviewed proposed projects for compliance with Department of the Army permit regulations and the preparation of NEPA documents in support of those applications.

For the past 11 years, Mr. Nanninga has worked as the Chief of the Evaluation Section in the Galveston District USACE Regulatory Branch. In this position, he has assured compliance with all permit actions regarding public laws and regulations, interagency agreements, policies of the headquarters and directives from the District Commander. He has also interpreted and directed the implementation of regulations, directives and procedures affecting the assigned functions within the Evaluation Section of the Regulatory Branch. In addition, Mr. Nanninga has made recommendations or final permit decisions on permit applications affecting all navigable waters and jurisdictional wetlands within the Galveston District.
