Overview:

Desert Troon Companies and their affiliate, Hassayampa Village Community, L.L.C. contracted SWCA to conduct an archaeological survey of a property in Prescott, Arizona that was chosen for the new Hassayampa Country Club.

• Archaeological excavations at 10 sites

Results:

The clients took extra measures to preserve uncovered cultural resources, incorporating many into the club’s golf area. In addition, Desert Troon elected to sponsor stabilization and preservation of the Hassayampa Ruin, a two-room masonry structure. As a result, the clients were awarded the Arizona Governor's Award in Public Archaeology.
