  • Archival research
  • Construction monitoring
  • Analysis of project constraints
  • Subsurface testing of historic or prehistoric sites
  • Formulated a mitigation plan for construction impacts to significant resources
  • Developed public relations strategies and material

Results:
This project is an example of SWCA’s ability to manage multi-level projects involving various agencies, subcontractors, permits and the general public. SWCA provided the Texas State Historic Preservation Office with weekly updates, helping our client obtain timely clearances so their work could proceed. Throughout this project, SWCA staff kept client needs at the forefront of their work. We not only helped the client minimize impacts to cultural resources, we also saved them time and money by keeping most of our work at the survey level. This project provided significant new data that can increase archaeological understanding of San Antonio prehistory.
