The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Ft. Worth District selected SWCA to co-author a third-party environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed Alcoa Three Oaks Mine, a project that called for the open-pit mining of lignite coal on approximately 16,000 acres, over a 25-year period.

 

This project illustrates SWCA's ability to manage unexpected changes that arise during projects. As this project progressed, the client needed SWCA's assistance with additional project details. SWCA took on this task in order to avoid costly delays, and the project remained on schedule.
