SWCA collected and analyzed data for more than 50 miles of potential right-of-way within nine major alternatives during the course of the paleontological study. Methods of study included detailed literature review, record search and extensive field reconnaissance. Findings included detailed impact analysis and comparison of build alternatives as well as mitigation measures designed to eliminate or substantially reduce adverse impacts to the region's paleontological resources. Results of the paleontological resources assessment study was compiled in a technical report, which was utilized during the preparation of the SEIS/EIR. At the conclusion of the project, final copies of the technical study were filed with all 12 state and federal reviewing agencies, the client, and the project proponent, TCA.
