This course provides a better understanding of the inner workings of a Tribal Historic Preservation Office Program. We synthesize the complexities of cultural resources management and tribal government into a comprehensive vision allowing course attendees to confidently apply for, establish, implement, manage and interface with Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) Programs. Our course will explore the role of THPOs and review the National Historic Preservation Act, Native American Graves Protection and Repatriations Act, and Archaeological Resources Protection Act.
