Matt is the Principal for the Houston and Baton Rouge offices. He has more than 20 years of experience in environmental compliance consulting for oil and gas exploration, pipeline, public transportation, telecommunications, electric utility, coal mining, and land development clients throughout Midwest and Southeast states.
Matt joined SWCA in 2002 as project manager and became the natural resources program director for Houston in 2007, building a highly respected and successful program by focusing on mentoring and development of staff. He is an expert in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Clean Water Act permitting and mitigation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Endangered Species Act compliance, National Environmental Policy Act environmental assessments and impact statements, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission filings, Public Utilities Commission reports, and other state and federal environmental permitting and agency coordination. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science and a master’s degree in rangeland ecology and management from Texas A&M University and is a registered Professional Wetland Scientist.
