PHOENIX, Ariz. – Kenny Carothers, Director of Business Development at SWCA, has been named the Regional Advisor to the Ecological Restoration Business Association (ERBA) Board for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Southwestern Division.

Kenny Carothers, Land Development Team LeadThe ERBA focuses on bringing together leaders who are committed to restoring and conserving wetlands, streams, and habitats across the United States. First established in 1998 as the National Mitigation Banking Association (NMBA), ERBA promotes federal legislation and smart regulatory policies that encourage advance compensatory mitigation and private investment in ecological restoration as a means to offset adverse impacts to our nation’s natural resources and coastal communities. This commitment is fulfilled through a variety of policy research, congressional initiatives, and outreach sponsored by the ERBA and available exclusively to its members.

In order to stay abreast of emerging issues at a regional level that may amplify to become a national issue within the CWA 404 permitting and mitigation markets, the ERBA recently voted to create the Regional Advisors role. Kenny will be one of seven Regional Advisors, each representing one of the USACE’s divisions (North Atlantic, South Atlantic, Great Lakes & Ohio River, Mississippi Valley, Southwestern, Northwestern, and South Pacific).
