PHOENIX, ARIZ. – David Steed, SWCA’s Mining Business Line Lead, has been nominated and elected by a diverse group of mining industry leaders as a Trustee to the Board of the American Exploration and Mining Association (AEMA).

David SteedAEMA is a 122-year-old, 2,000-member international association representing the minerals industry. AEMA is the recognized national voice for exploration, the junior mining sector, maintaining access to public lands, and represents the entire mining life cycle, from exploration through production to reclamation and closure across North America and the world. AEMA’s diverse membership includes every facet of the mining industry including geology, exploration, mining, engineering, equipment manufacturing, technical services, and sales of equipment and supplies.

AEMA’s Board of Trustees are at the top of their fields and represent a true cross section of the entire hard-rock mining industry. The board includes corporate geologists, environmental and public policy directors of junior and large mining companies, as well as lawyers, consultants, and suppliers. David, having formerly been a member of AEMA’s Environmental and Public Lands Committees, will serve as a trustee for the next three years, providing his insight on mineral policy, environmental regulatory considerations and resource issues facing the industry.
