Bio

Matt serves as Vice President of SWCA’s Four Corners region, which includes our offices in Albuquerque, Durango, and Carlsbad. He has more than 22 years of experience in environmental consulting, particularly in cultural resources and preservation practice, project and program management, and business development.

Matt joined SWCA in 2016 as Cultural Resources Program Director in Salt Lake City, where he oversaw cultural resources management and permitting for a wide variety of projects across the Great Basin region involving prehistoric and historic archaeology, architectural history, public history, conservation and ethnography. He holds a doctorate in anthropological archaeology from University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters of Historic Preservation from Georgia State University. He has been involved in hundreds of environmental compliance projects at all levels, from field technician to principal investigator and lead subject matter expert.
