SWCA Appoints New Technical Directors

SWCA has appointed new technical directors to provide enterprise-level leadership for the company’s Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and Cultural Resources practices. Each of these positions will drive continued growth and improvement of SWCA’s foundational practices in each focus area.

The new technical directors are:

• Amanda Glen– Endangered Species Act (ESA)
• Matt Petersen – National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
• Scott Phillips – Cultural Resources

Amanda Glen has more than 20 years of experience as a regulatory specialist and regional scientist. Much of her career has been focused resolving complex ESA challenges, with a specialization in crafting compliance strategies that consider how other federal environmental laws, such as the Clean Water Act, the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, interact with the ESA.

Matt Petersen has more than 20 years of experience as a resource specialist with a focus on the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). He has managed or provided senior oversite on more than 30 large-scale EISs throughout the U.S. As a NEPA expert, he has developed several open enrollment NEPA which he routinely teaches to industry professionals, lawyers, and agency staffs.

Scott Phillips is a subject matter expert in cultural resources management with nearly 30 years of experience leading historians, archaeologists, tribal relations specialists, anthropologists, and ethnographers with SWCA in preserving our heritage resources for tomorrow while enabling projects that benefit people today.
