Wendy Blackwell Joins SWCA as Senior Lead for Climate and Disaster Resilience

Wendy Blackwell joined SWCA as a Senior Lead for Climate and Disaster Resilience, focusing on nature-based solutions to reduce hazard risk. She is based in the Albuquerque Office and will be working both regionally and nationally.

Wendy comes to SWCA with more than 30 years of experience in natural hazard risk reduction, grant management, mitigation planning, floodplain management, and public outreach. Her diverse background brings a unique perspective and will strengthen efforts of the Climate Driven Services Work Group. In addition to serving as the New Mexico Hazard Mitigation Officer, she also was the City of Santa Fe Floodplain Administrator, a FEMA Disaster Assistance Employee, and owned her own consulting business. Wendy holds a Bachelor’s in Biology and Philosophy from Skidmore College in addition to a Master’s in Regional Planning with an environmental focus from the University of Pennsylvania.
