Wes Mattox Promoted to Cultural Resources Director - Gulf Coast
Wes Mattox has been promoted to Cultural Resources Director for the Gulf Coast subregion. In this role, Wes will continue our record of success in the Gulf Coast, allowing SWCA to scale operations to meet our growing client needs, continue supporting investment in staff, and more equitably divide responsibilities among the group.
Wes graduated with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and history from Vanderbilt University and a master’s in anthropology from McGill University in Montreal. His interests include ceramics, urban formation, and the social exhibition of status and distinction at the pre-Inca city of Tiwanaku in modern-day Bolivia. He has been working in archaeology and cultural resources management for 20 years, mostly in the southeastern U.S.
