Description

SWCA supported a large wine, beer and spirits producer in assessing the financial and operational impacts of climate change on grape supplies in key California growing regions. Using geospatial modeling and climate projections, the analysis quantified risks related to changing temperature and precipitation patterns, including reduced chill hours, increased drought frequency, and rising operational costs due to lower yields and quality issues. The study incorporated business-as-usual scenarios and economic modeling to estimate the financial exposure and explore potential adaptation measures. These insights provided our client with a structured framework to identify, assess, and monetize climate-related risks, supporting resilience planning and long-term business strategy.
