SWCA conducted the cultural resources work for this 176-mile-long transmission line project that traversed the Mojave Desert of southern California and Nevada, through land managed by multiple BLM Field Offices, NPS land, California state land, and multiple military installations. Studies included archaeological, historic architectural, and paleontological resources assessment for the project. Over 1,000 cultural resources were updated or newly recorded during the inventory. A key component of the project was the development of a systematic approach to resource evaluation for the National Register of Historic Places and California Register of Historic Resources.
