Description

Depleted aquifer levels, increased watershed stress, and degraded landscapes threatened both the local ecosystem and long-term operational resilience of a multinational brewing company’s site in Meoqui, Mexico. To address these challenges, the company embarked on a mission to replenish the water source and help restore regional hydrological balance in an already water-stressed region through strategic on-the-ground watershed interventions. To protect the foundation of its operations (e.g. its critical use of water), the company turned to SWCA for a more strategic, localized, and innovative approach to water stewardship that not only addresses water scarcity but also enhances ecosystem health and community resilience. SWCA was brought in for its expertise in water stewardship and nature-based solutions tailored to regional contexts, ensuring the approach was both scientifically grounded and locally relevant. Our experts set out to design a project that could deliver real, measurable, and lasting water benefits—right where it’s needed most.
