SWCA provided environmental services for a 428-mile-long natural gas pipeline project, including environmental constraints analyses and route selection support; field surveys for aquatic and karst resources, protected species and associated habitats, and cultural resources; and preparation of Clean Water Act (Section 404) permits and coordination with the USACE’s Albuquerque, Fort Worth, and Galveston Districts and cooperating agencies including the USFWS and SHPO. SWCA assisted with the identification of appropriate conservation measures to address potential adverse effects to protected species including the Golden-cheeked warbler and Houston toad.
SWCA additionally identified and evaluated hundreds of cultural resources, directing and facilitating avoidance of those resources eligible or potentially eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. SWCA continued to support the project through construction with the deployment of biological, archaeological monitors, and karst subject matter experts to ensure compliance with permit conditions.
