Austin Wins 2022 Gives Back Award

Austin Local Office Champion, Kendall Duncan

Since 2014, SWCA has annually recognized an office and a Local Office Champion that have stood out in their efforts and spirit of giving back with the annual “Have A Heart Award”. Congratulations to the Austin office and their Local Office Champion, Kendall Duncan, as the recipient of the 2022 award.

In 2022, the Austin office went above and beyond in their commitment to our core value SWCA Gives Back. For the second year running, they achieved the highest total volunteer hours (and the highest volunteer hours per employee). They participated in 11 Gives Back events including a baked goods silent auction, food drives, and park cleanups. They strengthened their longstanding community partnerships by volunteering regularly with Austin Wildlife Rescue, Austin Pets Alive!, and Austin’s Meals on Wheels chapter. Austin employees also jumped into Spreading the Science efforts, from career fairs to multiple events supporting the Texas Archaeological Society.

Kendall Duncan contributed considerable time and effort organizing and participating in local events, supporting the Gives Back program, and engaging employees throughout the year.

The Have a Heart Award includes a donation to the office’s charity of choice, an office party, an engraved glass award, and a gift to the Gives Back Local Office Champion. Past winners include Amherst, 2020-2021; Phoenix, 2019; Salt Lake City, 2018; San Antonio, 2017; Albuquerque, 2016; Austin, 2015; and Arlington 2014.
