Shahrooz Alavi Joins SWCA as Solution Development Director

Shahrooz Alavi joins SWCA as Solution Development Director. In this role, Shahrooz will oversee all custom software systems, processes, and tools. He will also lead data science teams in designing, building, and maintaining software systems, utilizing the latest cloud platforms, and collaborating closely with the Field Data Collection/Tablet team to support scientific field collection needs.

Shahrooz holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Computer Engineering from NC State University. He began his career in chip design but gradually transitioned to software development. Shahrooz has worked at large companies such as Microsoft, IBM, and Boeing, as well as small startups, where he focused on transforming chaos into clean code.
