SWCA Recognized with Three Environmental Business Journal Awards
SWCA Environmental Consultants was recently honored with three awards from the Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) and Climate Change Business Journal (CCBJ), recognizing our outstanding business momentum, strategic acquisitions, and leadership in climate resilience. As the company continues to grow, we remain focused on advancing science-based solutions, expanding our service capabilities, and supporting the success of our employees, clients, and communities.
We experienced record growth in 2024, surpassing $391 million in sales – a more than 20% increase from the previous year. This achievement reflects our commitment to delivering innovative environmental solutions, expanding our services, and investing in employee ownership. With new offices in Corvallis, Oregon; Whitefish, Montana; and New Buffalo, Michigan, we strengthened our ability to serve our clients while building our expertise in priority areas.
Our acquisition of River Design Group (RDG) in 2024 marked a significant expansion of our capabilities in dam removal, fish passage, land surveying, and ecological restoration. This strategic move enhanced our presence in the Pacific Northwest, bringing additional expertise in stream and wetland restoration and supporting large-scale watershed projects across the country. The integration of RDG further strengthened our position as a leader in sustainable water resource management.
We also received an award for our role in New York’s South Fork Wind, the first utility-scale offshore wind farm in the United States. As the lead National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) consultant, we guided the environmental impact statement (EIS) process, facilitated stakeholder engagement, and ensured regulatory compliance, helping the project meet both federal requirements and sustainability objectives. The project, completed in 2024, now delivers clean energy to communities in Long Island and the Rockaways.
We are proud of what we accomplished in 2024 and grateful for the dedication of our team, whose expertise and commitment to excellence continue to drive our impact. These awards are a reflection of their hard work and the impact we strive to make in the environmental industry every day.
