Dr. Andrew Harley has been selected as SWCA’s new Mining Business Development Resources Director. Andrew has more than 30 years of experience delivering environmental solutions to resource and industrial clients on both sides of the Pacific.
Andrew’s mining experience began in 2002 in Western Australia and has grown to include work in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. His expertise includes permitting and feasibility studies, soil and groundwater contamination, mine closure and reclamation, and general reclamation and soil science. Andrew has combined a strong field background with academic research, evaluating new amendments and fertilizers to enhance reclamation in drastically disturbed soils associated with resource extraction.
Andrew received his bachelor’s degree in geography and geology from the University of New South Wales and his PhD from the University of Western Australia in soil science and plant nutrition with a concentration in geochemistry and soil mineralogy.
