WHAT HAPPENED?

 Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill (AB) 205 into law on June 30, 2022. AB 205 provides opportunities for developers to opt into a new streamlined environmental review and approval process via the California Energy Commission (CEC) for certain solar, wind, and battery storage projects.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In early July, a federal district court rolled back a set of rules that govern interagency consultations under the Endangered Species Act. The rollback resets the consultation regulations to conditions that existed before a series of reforms became final in 2019, despite a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announcement that the agency is in the process of revising the rules.

SWCA is pleased to announce that 100% of offices across the country are replacing disposable water bottles, plastic cups, plates, utensils, and other single-use plastic items for office use with environmentally friendly alternatives. This is an important step forward in SWCA’s sustainability goals and further reduces the company’s consumption of nonrenewable resources.
