SWCA recently hosted a free webinar to discuss CEQ’s new NEPA regulations. For those who were unable to attend, you can access the video recording below.

On July 16, after two years of study and more than one million public comments, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) released its final rule amending the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations governing all agencies. CEQ’s “Update to the Regulations Implementing the Procedural Provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act,” published in the Federal Register, will amend 40 CFR Parts 1500-1518. The scheduled implementation date is September 14, 2020, subject to congressional review.

As the first comprehensive amendment of the CEQ regulations since 1978, the rule seeks to improve management of the NEPA process. In this webinar, our experts discuss the updated rule, the inevitable litigation challenging it, and the implications for your projects.

The panel was moderated by Cara Bellavia and Jon Kehmeier, Vice Presidents with SWCA. Panelists from SWCA include senior NEPA specialists Amanda Childs and Matt Petersen. Christopher Thomas from Perkins Coie, LLP also joined the panel.
