On June 9, 2021, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced their intent to undertake a rulemaking to revise the definition of waters of the U.S. (WOTUS).

Drew Carson, a Natural Resources Project Manager in SWCA’s Chicago office, has been named the Lawrence S. Semo Scientific Achievement Award winner for the first quarter of 2021.

Reid Persing has been promoted to SWCA’s Great Basin/Pacific Northwest Business Development Director. In this role, Reid will support SWCA’s growth in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah by helping clients connect with SWCA resources to achieve their goals, building relationships, developing SWCA’s internal resources, and managing strategic pursuits and projects. Reid’s efforts will have an emphasis on water, transportation, federal, transmission, and generation projects.
